Unique Perspectives: Are You Out of Alignment?
By Kim Stevens

The scene: I’m sitting in my office one sunny afternoon, when suddenly, my computer pings, an email comes through, and I’m overtaken by a wave of complete anxiousness. It’s overwhelming and I can’t focus. My mind is uneasy. My body is restless. I nervously tap my fingers along the desk. I feel unlike myself in the most uncomfortable way.
Yuck.
Then I remember my natural state is one of joy and well-being, and I remind myself that this temporary feeling is just that – temporary. Moments change, and in this moment, I’m simply out of alignment with my highest power. I’m not seeing things right. But if I want to, I could.
So, I get still, take a breath and say aloud, “All is well and all will be well.”
I remind myself that well-being is a state I can access anytime, and the reason I feel anxious is because I’m not accessing it right now. The truth is, I possess all the power to feel at ease.
And you know what? Just that simple perspective change helps me snap back into alignment and return to my natural state of happiness and joy.
It’s something I recall any time I’m feeling out of alignment, whether I’m feeling nervous, sad, worried or any other emotion that’s atypical for me.
“God’s got me and all is well, because He always has and it always is,” I say. And knowing even in my most anxious or fearful moments that God has my back and a state of well-being is right there waiting for me, I’m able to find it every time.
