Unique Perspectives: Ready to Experience a Higher Version of Yourself?

By Kim Stevens

As I travel on my never ending journey of self-improvement, I’m constantly looking for ways to become better – better with people, relationships, work, encouragement … and what this always requires is a change. But it’s not a call for change that excites me. It’s what happens next.

Because the minute I sense that calling to become a higher version of myself, the universe collaborates with me and sends a particular opportunity my way. And then, I get to experience a higher version of myself. Before the experience, it was a wish. A dream. Now that the universe has brought an opportunity to live out this change, it’s real.

Here’s a real-life example of this perspective at play: My son Maxwell called me. He had just found a rattlesnake under the deck of his house.

“You need to move!” I told him. “My granddaughter can’t live in a house where there are rattlesnakes!”

We laughed and he said, “There is a cool house by the lake I want to look at, why don’t you come with me?”

So, I did what any real-estate-loving person would do and went with him to check out the property. I walked in and immediately (as my dad would say) the house winked at me. I just knew. This was my house. In fact, Max even looked at me and said, “Mom, this isn’t my house. This is YOUR house!”

It really was perfect. Located in a picturesque, tree-lined neighborhood with seasonal views of the lake, the home had high vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows … “I’m supposed to live here.” I said.

Except that made no sense. I love the house I’m living in. Everyone who visits me loves the house I’m living in. I told myself I would live there forever. And there’s no way I can afford to buy another house on top of the very lovely one I already own. But this new house is mine. I can feel it.

I had arrived at a critical decision: Am I going to trust my head or my heart? Am I going to follow my intellect or my intuition? I’m not convinced I know what to do yet but I go ahead and apply for a loan anyway. And you know what? The loan gets approved.

Then all kinds of miracles appeared to show me I made the right decision. I met the sellers who are the most lovely people and we happen to have a close mutual friend we both ADORE! The neighbors across the street are the parents of another Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices agent from out of the area. Every piece of furniture I own will fit perfectly. It’s closer to the yoga studio I love and even closer to my office than my current home, which is already really close!

The best part of it all? I now have the experience of getting to see a higher version of myself. When I saw the home, I trusted my intuition, which is a quality I’ve longed to possess. I am not only soon to become the proud owner of this beautiful, dreamy lake house but also the kind of person who trusts and acts on intuition, knowing it will guide me exactly where I need to go.

Thank you, Universe! More please!
